Sold out, three simultaneous client briefs, and an FPV drone flying indoors. Here's how we approached Hardstyle DNA's Christmas Madness in Oslo.
Hardstyle DNA's Christmas Madness at Eventhallen in Oslo sold out. Over a thousand people for what the promoters called Norway's hottest Christmas party, with some of Europe's best hard dance DJs on the bill. We delivered for three separate clients that night: video coverage for two artists, FPV drone and photography for Hardstyle DNA as the host.
Flying a drone indoors at a sold-out concert is not a decision made on the night. It starts weeks earlier with a risk assessment co-authored with the Head of Security, covering flight paths, exclusion zones, crowd density at different points in the program, and emergency protocols. Hardstyle DNA has been a client for over three years. That trust is part of why those conversations are straightforward.
Managing multiple clients in one room
Three different briefs running simultaneously requires a production structure where everyone knows exactly what they're delivering and for whom. The FPV footage goes to DNA. The video cuts go to the artists who need their own content. The photography covers all three. When the energy in the room is that high and the show is running continuously, there's no time to renegotiate scope mid-set.
Planning is what makes it look effortless. The show itself is the easy part once the prep is done.
Why Oslo's hard dance scene deserves proper coverage
Christmas Madness was a sold-out event in a serious venue with an audience that travels from across Norway for nights like this. The content from an event at this level shapes how the scene is perceived and how the next event gets booked. DNA has been building this audience for years. The content should reflect that effort.
Until next year.
