Cavetown, the moniker of Cambridge-based artist Robin Skinner, has become a defining voice in the DIY bedroom pop scene. Known for his deeply personal lyrics and whimsical imagination, Cavetown’s music resonates with listeners on a profound level. With over 1 billion global streams, 6 million monthly Spotify listeners (as we speak), we were thrilled to have the opportunity to capture moments at his Copenhagen concert.

Starting at just 14, Cavetown began crafting self-produced songs in his bedroom, blending covers with original music recorded straight from the heart. Unlike many artists who rely on viral hits or flashy gimmicks, Skinner cultivated an audience through authenticity, sharing his music on YouTube and Bandcamp. His 2018 breakout album, Lemon Boy, was a turning point, propelling him into the spotlight as a beloved figure in the indie-pop community.

The success of Lemon Boy established Cavetown as a collaborator with other bedroom pop icons, including mxmtoon, Chloe Moriondo, and Tessa Violet. He went on to sell out venues across the U.S. and U.K. while performing on major stages at festivals like Lollapalooza and Reading & Leeds. His unassuming charm and relatable storytelling continue to draw fans from all over the world.

In 2020, Cavetown released his major-label debut album, SLEEPYHEAD, followed by his critically acclaimed EP, Man’s Best Friend. This release solidified his status as a global artist, earning praise from publications like The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Billboard. With his heartfelt, diary-like approach to songwriting, Cavetown remains a trailblazer for the DIY music movement.
